A Good person and a bad person
A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and a bad person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart.
(Matthew 12:35)
A good person and a bad person. When Jesus brought the illustration about the good and bad person he revealed the human behavior and how to identify both of them. In the same chapter above, Jesus was doing miracles among his people. Jesus healed a man who had an evil spirit, which caused damage in his speech and vision. Some people brought him to Jesus because the miracles that he performed in all land of Israel. The Lord Jesus cast out the demon and the man could speak and see. The Pharisees accused Jesus of doing witchcraft when they said that he was doing such miracle because the Devil was empowering him. Jesus said “if Satan is casting out Satan, he is divided and fighting against himself.” The Pharisees was opposing Jesus because his popularity and his influence in the community. Jesus was very clear in his message when he described the bad and the good person. The Pharisees had so many evil things in their heart and they never got tired to accuse Jesus.
Sometimes life can bring so much pain and people can change. A bad person can change to good and vice versa. It depends how this person will conduct his life. Bad companies can influence anyone. The apostle Paul alerted the church of Corinth saying “Do not be misled: Bad company corrupts good character.” (1 Corinthians 15:33). The servant of the Lord must preach the word. It is true that some circumstances requires his presence among those who do not know the Lord. When a believer can hang out with a nonbeliever? Anytime, anywhere since the believer has the control of their relationship. Jesus walked among all kinds of sinners but he had the control and his influence was over all. If a believer does not have sufficient influence with those friends, who reject Jesus and his sacrifice the best thing that he can do is to get away from those people and pray for them.
Good qualities in a person.
The list is huge. A few of them are below:
- Sincere – With a short conversation the believer are capable to feel if the other person is genuine.
- Honest – This quality has to be involved in all areas of the person’s life. For instance, a person is honest with his co-worker and at the same time, he is cheating his boss. In this case, he is not honest.
- Loyal – No matter which circumstance someone can face.
- Wise – Never judge anyone always try to understand.
- Reliable
- Mature
- Kind
- Friendly
- Good tempered
Characteristics of a good person
These characteristics is just a few among many others. Another key point to remember is that none of those characteristics can lead a man to God. These attributes have to follow those who loves God and accepted Jesus. By God’s grace a man can find the way to heaven.
Am I a good person?
No one can judge you, only God. If you want to measure your goodness, read the Bible and compare your life with any other holy man, a prophet or a disciple.
How to be a good person?
To be a good person requires dedication and patience. The world is the enemy of God. If a person can guard his heart from this world then he conquered an excellent thing. Jesus loves the sinners not their sin. The world can corrupt peoples’ heart. John wrote: “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever. (1 John 2:15). Do not copy the world, do not bring the world to your home, and do not accept their blasphemy against God. Follow Jesus and be different from those who does not believe him.
A dream is a wish your heart makes
Most of the people think about richness and how they can help more their family and friends. This wish is good but not enough to reach the main goal. Many times, people when they won in the lottery they disappear. Have their lives changed to bad. Husbands get divorced and try to find a woman more beautiful than his spouse is. To do well in life and help others the most important keys are love and passion. Money is just a tool nothing else. Money will just amplify the real intentions of a heart.
A broken heart
A broken heart can lead someone to die or live in a miserable life. Not only this but also to exclude themselves from the rest of a society. When a person understand the meaning to live a good life and in peace with everyone especially with God then he is happier than any other person who does not protect his heart from sin against the Lord. Solomon wrote in Proverbs 4:23 “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”
