The way
Jesus is and will be always, the way, the truth and the life. Three significant points that Jesus mentioned about who he is. Jesus said that he is the way, the truth, and the life in response to Peter’s question. Jesus knew how difficult is to live in this world he comforted his followers with the following words “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God also in me. In my father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going. (John 14:1-4).
I go to prepare a place for you
How could the disciples know the way and find this big house? Where is it? Peter seems to be the most interested in this promise and he asked, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way? Keep in mind always: To go to God’s house it is important to know the way, the truth, and the life. And Jesus is these three combinations. These three elements point at God as the universal being, God Father, God Son, and God Holy Spirit. How big is God’s house? For sure, it is huge. No one knows exactly how big it is but Jesus said that he was going to prepare a place for his followers. He is the truth and if he said so then this statement is a fact.
God in the flesh
If you had known me you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him (John 14:07). This is an important statement of how Jesus is describing himself and the father. How did the Israelites see God in the past? A God who punishes hard those who do not obey his commands? A God who ordained many of his servants to kill pagan nations? How this can be? Jesus came with a different approach and teaching love and compassion. Humm, is Jesus really God in the flesh? Is it possible? If we compare God’s action in the past and Jesus in the present many people will wonder about this statement. Any man who wants to be God suffers deceptions because it is not possible but for God to come to this world in the flesh then it is possible. Because it is written that for God nothing is impossible (Luke 1:37).
Time travel
Going back to the past before Jesus’ era to learn about God the Father. Is God really upset with his creation? The human race specifically. No, he is not. God hates sin but he loves the sinner, since the beginning of the world. The Philistines abused God’s holiness for a long time and tried on many occasions to destroy Israel and the name of the great God that they worship. One day God revealed how powerful He is and what He can do when someone trusts in him. This is the story of David. Israel was at war against the Philistines and just one man among them put everyone in panic including the king of Israel. This man called Goliath was 9 feet tall. A warrior and a champion among the Philistines. He was mocking not just Israel but Israel’s God. God to preserve justice and do righteousness took the little David to humiliate the Giant. David came to the war zone just to see his three oldest brothers and he witnessed the most and horrible blaspheme against God. The spirit of the Lord entered in David’s heart and he said “Who is this uncircumcised Philistine that he should defy the armies of the living God?” Then God used David to kill the giant Goliath and Israel prevailed over the Philistines.
Who is god?
Who is God and who is Jesus? Jesus and God are the same. God since the beginning of the world he knew that the human race was going to fall from grace. Jesus as he states about himself “the way” that leads his followers to God is indeed part of the plan that God established by his own authority.
Before Jesus come and show himself as “the way”, God worked in the past to make this statement true. God thinking about “the way” removed geographic obstacles (pagan nations), and used construction materials (Israel) that are far more improved and durable to prepare the path that leads to Him. In the past when God ordained to eliminate some nations, he was already preparing “the way” that is Jesus. This is the conclusion about God. God is eternal through the ages. He is the same as it is written in Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.”
There is no other name under heaven
There is no salvation other than Jesus. No other man can be compared with the great King Jesus. Anyone who follows another leader will perish and lose their soul. God already revealed Himself in the person of Jesus. No man will have an excuse before God at the end. The prophet Moses wrote in Deuteronomy 18:15-19: The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your brothers— it is to him you shall listen— just as you desired of the Lord your God at Horeb on the day of the assembly, when you said, ‘Let me not hear again the voice of the Lord my God or see this great fire anymore, lest I die.’ And the Lord said to me, ‘They are right in what they have spoken. I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers. And I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I command him. And whoever will not listen to my words that he shall speak in my name, I myself will require it of him.
The Bible
The entire Bible point at Jesus as being this prophet and savior. Definitely, Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.
