Jesus had mercy on two blind men
Matthew 9:27-31
Blindness
“And as Jesus passed on from there, two blind men followed him, crying aloud, ‘Have mercy on us, Son of David’. When he entered the house, the blind men came to him, and Jesus said to them, ‘Do you believe that I am able to do this?’ They said to him, ‘Yes, Lord.’ Then he touched their eyes, saying, ‘According to your faith be it done to you.’ And their eyes were opened. And Jesus sternly warned them, ‘See that no one knows about it.’ But they went away and spread his fame through all that district.”
Jesus son of David
Two blind men and one hope called Jesus. These two men were waiting for their opportunity to meet Jesus. Why did they call Jesus the Son of David? David lived 1,000 years before Jesus. According to the scriptures, the messiah was going to come from the lineage of David. If someone is called the son of David is an honor because David was a man of God and anointed to perform God’s work. The two blind men knew that Jesus had an anointed solution for their problem. If Jesus indeed was, the person that they believed then Jesus in fact was from the lineage of David. Jesus asked them “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” Their positive answer was the key to their success. They were blind in their physical body but not in the spirit. They were able to see Jesus by faith.
Faith in Jesus
How many physical blinds exist in the world today? The numbers are many but not so many like those ones who refuse to see Jesus. The spiritual blind is worse than anything else is because spiritual blindness comes with other deficiencies like listening, touch, etc. If someone is spiritually blind, any difficulty that he goes through can be larger than someone who has his spiritual vision in good condition. Those who have faith in Jesus are happier than those who do not have because they believe in Jesus’ promises that he cares about his people and a new place to live forever is waiting for them. Those who accepted Jesus know that in this world all good comes to an end as well all bad things have their time to end. For eternity everything is different, God prepares the best things for his children enjoys his presence, and worship him forever.
